Vietnam Airlines has been named
World’s Leading Cultural Airline and World’s Leading Airline - Premium Economy Class by the World Travel Awards™ (WTA) at the Grand Final 2019 held in Oman.

Receiving these two global awards marks an enormous achievement following the recognition obtained at the Asian competition in October in which Vietnam Airlines was presented the following three accolades: Asia’s Leading Airline - Economy Class, Asia’s Leading Airline - Premium Economy Class, and Asia’s Leading Airline Brand. This is the fourth consecutive year that Vietnam Airlines has received WTA awards at Asia and global levels.

Inheriting global awards denotes acknowledgment from the international community for Vietnam Airlines’ steady development. The carrier is not only renowned for its high-quality service – such as its Premium Economy class – but is also prized for its infusion of Vietnamese culture exhibited on each flight.

Currently, Vietnam Airlines provides Premium Economy class on international routes between Vietnam - Japan, Korea, Western Europe, and Australia. Notably, in 2017, Vietnam Airlines’ Premium Economy class was ranked by Skytrax as one of the 20 best airlines in the world for this service. This year marks a new milestone for Vietnam Airlines as it first launched its Premium Economy class on domestic flights between Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City with service standards nearly equivalent to that of Business Class.

Vietnam Airlines is not only appreciated for its highly acclaimed service but also for the rich Vietnamese culture embedded on each flight.

As the national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines pays close attention to integrating Vietnamese culture ​​into its products and services. In addition to cultural representations such as the quintessential lotus symbol and flight attendants uniformed in traditional ao dai dresses, the airline has recently infused new cultural imprints such as serving unique local produce on board, collaborating with chef Luke Nguyen to create a menu combining the distinct flavors of the nation’s three regions, and introducing famous Vietnamese movies in its in-flight entertainment catalog.

World Travel Awards™ was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate the best providers in travel, tourism, and hospitality. The WTA is known as the ‘Oscars of the tourism industry’ and is widely identified as a prestigious certification that recognizes the best tourism and travel brands globally.
