Mr. Peter Harbison, President of CAPA, said: “Vietnam Airlines has emerged with lots of successes and rapid growth, in spite of mounting competitive pressure in the domestic market. Hinging on dual branding with Jetstar Pacific and its pursuit of a wide range of strategic international cooperation ties, Vietnam Airlines' strategy has catapulted its long term status and made notable contributions to its highly successful privatization and the company's high annual returns in recent years."
Vietnam Airlines is ranked among the fastest growing full-service airlines in the world, and has firmly maintained high flight safety ratings. It became the first carrier in Asia – Pacific to put two of the world’s latest aircraft models, the Airbus A350-900 and the Boeing 787-9, into operation, therefore, upgrading its service to international 4-star quality standards.
Vietnam Airlines expects to serve 22 million passengers this year. It plans to list its shares on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange – HOSE in 2018, and work with authorities to launch a direct route to the US in late 2019 or early 2020.
